Prateep Suthathongthai

Born in 1980, Bangkok, PrateepSuthathongthai graduated with the BFA from Rajamangara Institute of Technology, Bangkok, in 2001; he subsequently received the MFA from Silpakorn University, Bangkok, in 2006. He held solo exhibitions Appearance, in 2006, and Thai in Tai in Thai, in 2008 (part of Brand New 2008, the annual Bangkok art exhibition of outstanding emerging artists),Take Turn, at 100 Tonson Gallery, Bangkok, 2009, and Holy Production, at 100 Tonson Gallery, Bangkok, 2013Moreover, he has participated in the group exhibitions such as Month of Photography Bangkok 2nd (2004) and 3rd (2006); and Vision Impossible, with Porntaweesak Rimsakul, in 2005. Prateep started to explore the use of video in 2006 and was invited to participate in various events such as What About WATER Shortcuts, Iceland; Ghost of the Coast,Australia, in 2006; Laideothaï (as part of Videoformes2007), France, in 2007; SEA Art Festival, Busan Biennale, Korea, 2008; Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF), Singapore, in October, 2010, Singapore Biennale 2013, and 4th Moscow International for Young Art, Museum of Moscow, Russia ( 2014). He received a Grand Prize in Asian New Media Art Competition, Jakarta, Indonesia, 2007.
